Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, Inc.
, is a not-for-profit organization established for the primary purpose of improving academic excellence for all children. This is accomplished through the identification of successful programs in schools across the nation, the creation of an online Library of Best Practices to share these best practices, and to assist in the implementation of successful practices in targeted schools. This website also highlights “Terrific Teachers” and “Fantastic Schools” to recognize, motivate, and inspire educators everywhere. Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE) utilizes the criteria from twenty years of research from the USDOE former National Blue Ribbon Schools Program and has developed a Blueprint for Excellence assessment instrument that provides schools with a road map for school improvement. We invite you to join us in your quest for excellence.

Even Start Family Literacy Program Partners with Verizon Foundation

The Verizon Foundation has made a $10,000 pledge of support to the Spring Branch ISD Even Start Family Literacy Program at Ridgecrest Elementary School in Texas.  The funds will be used primarily to build the program’s first Early Childhood Learning library for both parents and children in the program.

The mission of Even Start is to break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty in our community. It is firmly rooted in the provision of family literacy services to create long-lasting change and effective improvement for those families that are most in need.
